Simple yet effective all-natural tooth powder, with organic full-spectrum (72+) trace minerals. Ingredients include calcium carbonate, bentonite clay, and Himalayan pink salt, for a variety of trace minerals, as well as cocoa, ginger, and cinnamon powder, which all all contribute to dental health and whitening. Also made with xylitol, which is known to improve dental health - I've included just enough to add some sweetness and of course, give the dental benefits, but this powder is not overly sweet. It also includes baking soda, which (contrary to some thought) is not at all abrasive. On the RDA (relative dental abrasion) scale of 0-250, soda is a 7 - the only thing less abrasive is plain water! I also add ConcenTrace trace mineral drops for ultimate tooth health.
The natural flavor of this powder is actually quite pleasant, it makes me think of hot cocoa, with the cinnamon and cocoa powder, and just a bit of warmth from the ginger.
To use, either dampen a toothbrush, shake off excess water, and pat in the powder until the brush is well-loaded. Do not get moisture into the powder, as it will cause clumping, and in extreme cases could allow mold or bacteria to grow in the dampened powder. Alternatively, shake a bit of powder into the palm of your hand, and load the brush there, to avoid dampening the whole container.
Packaged in glass or metal tins - I use up-cycled glass jars, the 4 oz size comes in Oui yogurt jars with metal snap on lids, and the 8 oz size is the Bonne Maman jam jars with twist-on metal lids.
I also can package these in metal tins - a 1.5 oz screw-top version (the same as my balms and salves, a flat tin with a screw-on lid) and 4 and 8 oz slip-top tins (the same as my candle tins, note this does not screw on, just slides down). If you order a tin, PLEASE tamp it on a hard surface before opening as it is very full and will be shaken up in shipping. The tins are great if you want a travel option or you're just concerned about breakage (I finally started using an upcycled plastic jar myself after my kids broke 3 of the glass jars!!) or want to reduce shipping weight/padding (expense).
I also have refill bags for if you already have the labeled jar or tin, these are packaged in clear fully household-compostable cellophane bags (they look like plastic but are wood fiber cellophane!)
