Tunis Roving - SE2SE Rare Sheep Breed Roving by the Ounce or Pound

from $15.00
Tunis sheep wool, mill-processed into roving, in 4, 8, and 16 oz increments - I will package multiple units together unless specified otherwise (as in, an order for three 4 oz units will be sent as one 12 oz ball). I have SE2SE passport stickers for this breed, just add a note if you'd like me to send one, and I will have Hog Island wool available in the spring as well, also with SE2SE stickers available.

These are a warm-climate sheep, so they have a shorter staple length - 2-4" although lamb fleeces can be longer - but a really nice crimp and fine fiber.  Tunis wool is known for being soft and non-scratchy, the word I kept seeing when researching them was "lustrous". The fiber shafts are less scaly than many sheep wools, and though the micron count is often given as in the 30’s, it is known for feeling and seeming much finer than that, especially the lamb fleeces.

I have a number of fleeces I haven’t found time to list, including (as of spring of 2024) Hog Island sheep, and numerous alpaca fleeces in several colors, both Huacaya and Suri and some mixes (Suri sire, Huacaya dams) so if you’d like a sample of something else included please ask!
