Unscented Tallow + Lard Goat Milk Soap, Coconut-Free with Oats + Honey
This soap is a gentle coconut oil-free soap made to be soothing to sensitive skin - it is loaded with moisturizers, and more than 2/3 of the ingredients are from Solace Farm or other local farms. I use our own hand-milked goat milk and either our own grass-fed beef tallow or some from a local partner farm, and local pastured lard from the same farm that I render here on the farm, in addition to Shea butter, olive, almond & castor oils. I add some of our own raw honey and ground oats for extra moisturizing - honey is a humectant that pulls moisture out of the air and onto your skin.
This soap will have less lather than a standard, coconut-oil bar since coconut is what generally makes lather. It is still a nicely cleansing bar, but just won't have the bubbles that you may be used to!
This soap comes in several rectangular bar styles from 3-4 oz - either the word “OATMEAL”, a pig and flowers, or honeycomb and bees - or a plain square bar, 4-5 oz. They are either packaged in a brown paper box (molded bars) or wrapped in brown paper bands (square) with labels that include all ingredients: goat milk, lard, tallow, almond, castor and olive oils, lye (sodium hydroxide), honey, and oats.
